About
Ken Reily
I’ve been flying since 1996. Through Twin Cities Malibu, I provide initial and recurrent training in the Piper M-Class. PC-12 training comes through my partnership with Aviation Training Management (ATM).
Aviation. I earned my first pilot certificate in 1996 and have been flying ever since. Over 3,000 hours in the Piper PA-46 / Piper M-Class, piston and turbine. Nearly 3,000 in the Pilatus PC-12. Both lineages are familiar territory, and I still enjoy flying and training in them.
Instructor. I’m a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI / CFII). I’m also an ICON Authorized Flight Instructor (IAFI) in the ICON A5, one of a small number of authorized instructors worldwide. I’ve served on the board of Lifeline Pilots, a volunteer pilot organization, since 2012.
Outside aviation. I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science. I spent nearly twenty years in the software industry with Cargill, Microsoft, and 3M, where I managed research and development labs. I’m listed as an author on numerous academic publications, as an inventor on several US patents, and have consulted on National Science Foundation grants for advanced avionics. I’ve taught computer science-related topics at the University of Minnesota nearly every semester since 1996, where I have earned teaching and service awards from students as well as the administration.
Adjacent practices. Beyond Twin Cities Malibu, I am the chief pilot for 8 Blade Aero, which provides aircraft management, ferry and pilot services, buyer’s agent services, and a flight-operations software platform for owners. I provide initial transition and recurrent training in the Pilatus PC-12 via Aviation Training Management (ATM).
Off the clock. Snowboarding, flying for fun, and planning the next trip (by airplane or cruise ship, preferably).

Always happy to talk Piper M-Class, Pilatus PC-12, or anything else flying-related.
